Pattie Page
Pattie Page was the name of a country singer, famous for the song Tennessee Waltz. This isn’t her. Besides, the chanteuse’s first name did not have an ‘e’ at the end of it. Pattie above was also American and I cannot vouch if this was her real name. She and her husband Bruce were pioneers of the internet. Their stock in trade was retro: seamed nylons, petticoats and high heels. Behind the scenes they went a lot further than that. Their popular website was an American take on Spick and Span. Pattie and Bruce were a great help to me funnelling traffic from their site to first my S&S venture and then Jo’s Lovely Leg Show. Again, without them, I probably wouldn’t be talking to you now. Tragically, I seem to recall, Pattie succumbed to cancer. Bruce became a warrior tracking down thefts of pictures of his beloved wife that sprang up on the multitude of file-sharing forums that mushroomed in the early days of the new millenium.
