Anne Scott

Back to where I came in and Spick, Span and Beautiful Britons. No question in my opinion, the face and body, not to mention usually dazzling demeanour, of Scottish lass Anne Scott was with a couple of exceptions without peer. What was puzzling as I have queried before was why she had such a short shelf life. She was not alone in this. All of the beauties who sat for mysterious lensman Shaw came and went very quickly. One would have thought he would have fallen over himself to retain such sparkling talent, but it seems not. It seems feasible that Anne brought Ruth Cavendish to the party and Ruth in turn brought Helen Milligan. It would therefore seem Shaw’s credentials were impeccable (after all, these were commercial submissions or commissions), but who knows: did he turn out to be a forerunner of the danger to all things female Phil Sutcliffe of Fiona Cooper notoriety. In any event, Shaw disappeared as suddenly as he had arrived. Reason for this post is that my first venture into web creation was not Joanne’s Lovely Leg Show, but a site dedicated to, yes, ToCo Publications. I created it on a simple bit of software from a company (Canadian, I seem to recall) called Claris Corporation and uploaded it onto a community platform name of Geocities. All the posts were scans from my own collection (as are the ones posted here) and the site could have been the first dedicated to Spick and Span on the Information Superhighway. Pleased to say it went down very well, so much so that all the pictures I posted found their way onto other sites in time without of course any acknowledgment of origin (which funnily enough is still, if not more of, a prolific practice today). I thought I’d leave a Comment box below this post for your kind attention.
