Like Tiffy and Cassie Michelle came from Sheer Image. Mike Haywood liked to assume some kind of patronage over whom he described as “his girls”. And he was generous in passing on introductions. Michelle fell into that category. She was an American living in East Anglia. Something in the recess of my memory tells me she was married to an American serviceman stationed here and the union came to grief. She stayed on having met someone else. Indeed, a quiet bloke came to meet me at the station when I arrived to do these pictures and disappeared into the basement of their modest home. He didn’t say much, which was slightly disconcerting. Michelle had a new-age vibe. She had that extrovert tell-it-like-it-is North American manner. She had previously done a couple of video shoots for me in London. This session was one of my first on my newly-acquired tiny digital camera.
