Sheer Image

Those who passed by the previous iteration of this blog may recall a post regarding Sheer Image. Sheer Image was the brainchild of one Mike Haywood, a prolific series of videos promising “Old-Fashioned Glamour”, some in black-and-white. They dated back to the mid-to-late 1980s and continued into the DVD era (but not to downloads). Haywood would explicitly say the videos harked back to the days of Spick and Span and he had a point. His models, many local amateurs, generally sported jumpers and rock-and-roll skirts, with seamed nylons of course. They would often be required to twirl as if they were down at the hop. Back to the 50s rather than the 60s was his motto. Haywood had indeed been active in the dying days of ToCo with a stills camera. He did have one rather unremarkable set accepted for publication. This picture may well date from that time. It is taken from a series of scans of his work he transferred to DVD. The quality as you can see has not held up well.
