Back to the ToCo contact prints. Fay Stevens was one of a small group of models with no connection to Fullarton, Shaw, Howard, Uncle Tom Cobley and all. Perhaps the most notable was Maggie McCully. The photographer was perhaps the most mysterious of all the principal ToCo smudges. I’m not sure if anyone has put a name to his pics. The ones he took are believed to be in the building that was 88 Park Lane, Croydon. This particular shoot was on a flat roof or terrace out the back, with fencing keeping out prying eyes. That is my understanding. Fay was another non-smiler. She wasn’t a one-off wonder. So one can assume she wasn’t posing under sufferance.
