Cutie Capers

I have devoted some energy to this series of A5 booklets in a previous incarnation of this blog. I have four or five of them in my collection. They were published by Gadoline Publications and at five shillings weren’t exactly cheap. Each one had a particular “theme” under the banner Frolics. Gardeners’ Frolics was one of two Cutie Capers Bobby (Laurie Sands) Shaw appeared in, alongside this unknown face. Both booklets were undoubtedly shot at the same time in the same Surrey country pile. For some reason Ms Sands/Shaw eased her sweater up over her bra in only three pics. Those who forked out their hard-earned five bob must have felt a bit cheated. For another reason, the other lady wore some one-piece with slacks throughout, only letting the top half down well into the second half. No stockings here. I don’t think Cutie Capers made it into double figures. But they are definitely a curiosity collectors’ item.
