Cheeky Chappie
It was a feature of early 1960s Spick and Span that some anthropomorphic toy, one or two not so little, appeared with the smitten model. They looked as though they were blow-up dolls (not that sort), but I could be wrong. I seem to recall it was the original Scottish photographer, J B Fullerton, who introduced them into a Spick and Span skit. Well they were also adopted by his successor, Mr Shaw, as this cover of Span featuring an adoring Anne Scott reveals. I think the happy little fellow clapping his hooves and looking ecstatic in the company of Anne is some kind of rhino. Funnily enough, the cheeky chappie was dumped in the eight-page spread on Anne inside.
