Now, I must confess I have no idea who the good Mr Poster is, even if he existed. But he seemed to have been well known to the editors of this arcane little mag from, I suspect, the 1950s, Art Advertiser and Studio News. As it states on the cover, AASN is The Glamour and Art World Trade Magazine, though I imagine Art World would not have been out of place in inverted commas. Nevertheless, it does seem to be a source of opportunities for would-be or established smudges of all experience keen on taking a certain type of picture, “artistic” of course. I have to confess the ad on the back is quite hilarious. Good to see they didn’t take life too seriously (as well as trying to earn a grubby dollar). To be continued…!
