Helen

Like Jane, Helen Milligan (aka Brodie) was a mainstay of Shaw’s Scottish clan. I get the impression, as doubtless I have said before, she was a friend of Ruth Cavendish, with whom she did a duo set. Again, she seemed to come and go quickly, for whatever reason we’re very unlikely to know. It wasn’t until I blew up the scan to create the thumbnail pic that I realised what a pretty girl she was. The scan is evidence that this is a genuine contact sheet from the ToCo offices, with the red felt-tip scrawl on it. I have been trying to work out what “10/50 set” refers to. It is on other images on the same contact sheet. On the reverse side in pencil is her name: Helen Milligan, which would suggest that was her real name. A bonnie lass indeed.
