Rosa/Eve
The main USP of Spick and Span was of course amateur models in simple natural locations you wouldn’t see anywhere else. That was the template I tried, with some success, to emulate with Spick and Span 2000 and Beautiful Brits. But to claim all the girls in ToCo publications and my websites were exclusive to them would of course be a fallacy. I have already acknowledged two of my regular contemporary models, Tillie and Aurora, whom I shot in the week between Christmas and New Year and several times before that, are top faces in today’s online glamour field, as if you didn’t know. But their equivalents did surface in the pages of Spick and Span. One was Rosa Dolmai, or Domaille as it was sometimes spelled. Rosa from the West Country could be found in most of the “top shelf” mags of the day, as well as being featured more than once in the likes of ToCo’s Funfare. She changed her name to Eve Eden and got a part in the 1964 film The Beauty Jungle, playing a beauty contest contestant (non-speaking). The Beauty Jungle, one of many movies she popped up in, kicked off in Spick and Span style when two smudges patrolling the beach rushed to get pictures of girls walking across an open air fairground wind “tunnell” squealing as they tried stopping their skirts blowing up (you’d get arrested today). Rosa/Eve did go down the stronger route as several pics in cirulation of her full nude in some dodgy dungeon bear testimony. I believe that was the end of her time as a girlie mag gal. She apparently married in 1969 and died at the age of 83 in Las Vegas. Click on the pic to get the second one.
