Classic Bearsden with, from left to right, Jane Rennie, Ann Grainger and Cherie Scott, all of whom I imagine knew one another. This was one of Shaw’s early muck-about shoots in his favourite outdoor location, with the girls pushing one another over. I’ve selected Ann as the thumbnail image as I have a notion she was the “madam”. She looked a little older than the others and I have often wondered if she was a go-to girl for Shaw’s recruitment.
